Children's Formation | Saint John's Episcopal Church

Children's Chapel is offered every Sunday during the 10:30am worship service. Children will follow the banner out of the Nave at the beginning of the service and return to their families at the Peace. Children Pre-K through 2nd grade are invited to the classrooms above the Parish Hall for a Children's Chapel Liturgy and activity lead by a rotation of volunteer parents. Older children in 3rd-5th grade will meet in the Library (off the Parish Hall) for Simple Sermons, a reflection on the readings and prayers lead by volunteer parishioners and youth. The content of the Children's Formation time is adapted from the Prayer Book and Lectionary readings.

Throughout the year, there are multiple opportunities for outreach, formation, fellowship and worship, which are communicated through our Parent Email each Friday morning. Vacation Bible School is a summertime tradition in June, while additional customized worship experiences for children include the Journey to Bethlehem and the Maundy Thursday Family Service.
